“Limehouse Lizzy Top PRS For Music’s Hardest Working Bands List…”

OK….so those of you with eagle-eyed vision, powerful varifocals and who generally DID go to Specsavers (please note: Limehouse Lizzy are not endorsed in any way – other ocular correction vendors and merchants are available…although not with so nifty a tagline) may well have spotted the bearer of a still-current sicknote, gingerly marauding the stage for certain gigs of the last 3 weeks. Yes, Vain-Wayne of Ellisdom made a tentative return to performance, bravely ignoring the exhortations of naysayers, soothsayers, Leo Sayer and assorted warlocks and sorcerers. This, in a bid to pre-empt and anticipate the thumbs-up, green light and the usual signs indicative of ‘all clear’ that will be hopefully sanctioned by Consultant-in-Chief Gandalf Warner of Bolton District & General Hospice.
His appearances have been well-received, most likely with a good dose of sympathy being levelled towards the old scrote, heaving and wheezing like an old concertina under the weight of his trusty bass ‘The Blade’ and, of course, his erstwhile ego. The news is that he’ll be making a partial comeback doing selected gigs but largely concentrating on Thursdays for the time being. Rest assured that Paul Johnson remains his uber-capable carer, undertaking all the usual gigs that the old goat momentarily can’t.
On a more serious note, by way of further explanation for anyone remotely interested, there are a few minor complications with a couple of Old Bionic’s back muscles (supraspinatus and rhomboid, anyone?) which still aren’t functioning correctly, thus delaying the total healing process and rendering him unable to undertake the usual schedule. Hence, the softly-softly approach.
So, in summary and to reiterate, Wayne will playing Thursdays and some other selected gigs until at least the summer holidays (August). Saint Paul will continue to lend his considerable prowess until further notice.
NEW GIGS!
Our good friend Muttley over at the Iron Road in Evesham wanted to welcome Wayne back with another show (and no doubt some of his legendary ‘dessert shots’), so we’re back on 8th June.
We also have a new gig in Cannock after the sad demise of the Tackeroo, we play the all-new Station venue on 30th June.
Dates follow below down to mid-Sept so check ‘em out, and tell all your friends!
