Wassup Chaps & Chapesses!
And welcome to our last of the summer whine newsletter…
Farewell, Big Man…
Judging by the response we’ve had, it seems almost everyone is now aware of the news of the sad departure of our long-standing drummer, Andy Fox. The Facebook posting was fittingly received with an enormous outpouring of love and sadness. However, if by any chance you’ve been away from the planet for the past couple of weeks and missed it, please click the link here to read. Good luck, Andy!
Which leads us to….
And the band marched on…
We are both delighted and excited to welcome on board long-time Limehouse mate and stick-slinger extraordinaire, LEE MORRIS. Some of you may remember Lee as one of the guys who stood in for Foxy last year when his back began seriously playing up. And from the get-go Lee showed signs of being the likeliest one who could pick up the mantle in both talent and temperament, should Andy ever choose to step down. Calm as a seashore sunset, patient as a Limehouse audience waiting for that damned singer to stop fannying with his hair and get onstage…but total controlled Armageddon behind the skins, we can’t wait for y’all to meet him both on and off stage.
Lee Morris in action
Lee hails from the epicentre of the rock world (ahem..Wolverhampton!) and has a first class rock pedigree having previously occupied the drum stool for Marshall Law, Paradise Lost and Danny Vaughn amongst others. Lee’s first UK show with us will be at the Corn Exchange in Bedford on the 13th Sept, so do drop by to witness his debut first-hand and say ‘Hi’ and make him feel at home!
The Boys Are Back…
Its been a particularly gratifying summer for breaking new territories, with Andy’s last shows taking place at suitably magnificent events and venues in Germany and Denmark, providing a fitting send off for the big man.
And speaking of exciting new territories, none less so than our first shows over in the Czech Republic. Again, not only were they fantastic, high quality events, they also served for new-boy Lee to cut his teeth behind the kit as a full time Limehouse member. Massive, heartfelt thanks to the people who made this happen – Renee, Dan, Aneta and last but not least our hostess, translator, tour guide and all round wonder-woman Lucy. Thank you!!

New gigs, old ligs…
As ever, we always endeavour to bring you new gigs (please check our tour dates below at the end of this bulletin). But we’ve also added some of the more holler’d-for faves – like, the Academy Oxford on 3rd Oct, after what seems like an age away! Equally, a long overdue return to Mr Kyps Poole on 4th October. And for The River Rooms Stourbridge on the 10th October, a one-off appearance outside of our usual annual Easter Sunday jamboree.
We are also making a return to Liverpool when we play our first ever show at the legendary ‘Eric’s’ venue in Matthew Street on the 31st October. The club has played host to many world famous acts such as Elvis Costello, the Buzzcocks, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and early gigs by U2 (keep awake at the back, there!)…
